La Duquesa Golf Course

Play at the Costa del Sol’s ‘hidden treasure’ and you won’t be disappointed. The course at La Duquesa Golf  is one of the Costa del Sol’s most spectacular and varied and is known for being designed by golf architect, Robert Trent Jones. With long fairways, the front and back nines offer two distinctly different challenges. The first nine holes are what some refer to as ‘English-style’, with narrow fairways and high greens. The fourth hole, with its magnificent views, is particularly beautiful – but it can easily cause trouble on your scorecard.

The second nine are easier, with wide fairways and although the greens present additional difficulties, you can enjoy spectacular views over Duquesa Port, to the mountains and Gibraltar. On the fifteenth, the view even stretches as far as Marbella.

A day at the course wouldn’t be complete without dropping into the Suites Duquesa Golf – the resort’s 5-star hotel. Overlooking the sea and the golf course, this exquisitely decorated venue also features a Thalaso Spa.

HANDY HINTS:

Signature Holes: The 4th, 5th and 6th holes are known as AMEN CORNER, with a stroke index of 1, 7 and 3 respectively. An outstanding hole is the spectacular par-3 17th, stroke index 16. If the wind force affects your approach, you could play a 7 iron, a pitching wedge or a sand wedge for this 108m shot. The views on the Africa and the Mediterranean are truly spectacular.
